ABAA Alumni Spotlight

Anthony "TJ" Jackson
Class of '81, Pitcher

Anthony "TJ" Jackson played four years of Aggie baseball under the legendary coach Mel "Big 10" Groomes. He recalls anytime he was in a jam on the mound Big 10 telling him "............son just throw the ball over the plate and let your teammates do the rest." "TJ" finished his baseball career in 1981 and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He stayed at A&T and completed his M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1983. "TJ" continues to support A&T in many ways, originally from Washington, DC, he started a scholarship in his name for Aggie electrical engineering students from the Washington, DC area. He also serves as the College of Engineering representative in the NCA&TSU National Alumni Association. Aggie fans will be pleased to know that "TJ" still plays softball in his spare time, 3-4 days a week during the season. "TJ" lives in Bowie, MD and his daughter, Antoinette, is currently a sophomore at A&T, so the legacy continues.

Welcome From Our President

Welcome fellow ABAA members and visitors to our site.

Thank you for electing me as your 3rd president. Being a founding member and officer in the Association, I was inspired by our progress in such a short time. I felt the need to give back by applying my leadership skills in the process of building upon the strong foundation of the ABAA that began with our founder and former President, Cory Lima.

As former Aggie Baseball players and supporters, we all know the memories go beyond the field of play. The Aggie Baseball Program is dear to us all, and it is our duty to continue to uphold the legacy. Bear in mind, that while methods may change or become outdated, our duty remains the same. Officers and members will be expected to perform multiple tasks and lead in all areas of the association.

Thank You and I look forward to serving you.

Derrick Dalton (C of 96), President
