Williamson is 2nd Recipient of the ABAA Achievement Award Published: Sunday, April 5th, 2009
Clarence “Sneaky” Williamson became the second recipient of the ABAA Achievement Award on Saturday. The achievement award initially began when the association officially named the weekend after Mel “Big Ten” Groomes and presented a plaque to Ms. Jean Groomes prior to game 1 of the double-header during the first GSC in 2007.
Association members then proposed that once a year, the ABAA should honor a distinguished alumnus or major program contributor from any field of endeavor, who has personified perseverance, achievement, and has had involvement with the Aggie Baseball Program in some capacity.
Upon receiving the award, Willimson said “ I am honored to be the second recipient of this award and I’m glad that you all have formed an association where the great Aggie baseball story can be told. Thank you ABAA for formally recognizing my achievements and involvement with the program.”
