The 4’th Annual Groomes Spring Classic is set to take place April 29 – May 2nd. The GSC will officially kick-off at 7PM, Thursday, April 29th, at the CityView @ Southside Clubhouse with the Calcutta Cocktail Party. Participants in the Groomes Spring Classic Golf Invitational, will tee it up at 12:30 PM the following day at Country Hills Golf Club. Tournament registration begins at 11:30 AM. ABAA members and friends will gather at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday morning, May 1st, to eat, drink, and tell Aggie Tall Tales before the Aggies take on the Delaware State Hornets at 1PM. The ABAA Achievement award will also be presented before the first pitch. The ABAA Achievement Award is presented to a recipient from any field of endeavor, who has personified perseverance, achievement, and has or had significant involvement with the Aggie Baseball Program in some capacity. The 2010 recipient of the ABAA Achievement Award is Jerry Kimbrough. Kimbrough served as the athletics trainer for all Aggie Sports in the 60’s and 70’s. Although he was the trainer for all sports on campus, he was a true member of the baseball team during one of the most successful eras of Aggie baseball. Join us for an exciting weekend of Aggie fellowship as we celebrate the legacy of Aggie Baseball.
