The
Aggie Baseball Alumni Association (ABAA) is dedicated to preserving the history
of the North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University Aggie Baseball
Program. Document protection is a challenge for all entities. African-American
organizations have especially struggled to keep a precise record of their activity
and in most situations; it has been due to the lack of monetary resources.
Throughout the existence of the Aggie Baseball program, the lack of financial
resources has translated into the inability to consistently maintain adequate
sports information and record-keeping staff to properly preserve accurate baseball
records. The oral and sometimes documented chronological story of the Aggie
Baseball program is in the process of being gathered. We are proud of our University
for always fielding a team, despite the many challenges. Over the years, the
University has provided the ability to cover the baseball program through the
Ayantee yearbook staff and the student newspaper, the A&T Register. The quality of baseball coverage has largely been dependent upon the editors of both publications.
Ocassionally, editors have done an excellent job of ensuring the baseball team's
inclusion, but there are years where you would think the program was non-existent. The
ABAA is proud of a baseball tradition that we can confirm right now, reaches
back to 1902. This page is still under construction.
The documents, statistics, and stories that will fill this page will be as accurate
as possible.
